Fine Art

As seen throughout my portfolio, I love incorporating my passion for fine art into my design work. This selection highlights some of my favorite fine art projects and showcases the creativity, craftsmanship, and artistic perspective I bring to my work.

Portraits

Self Portrait

Charcoal: A study in drawing through erasure to create extreme contrast. This piece challenged me to use loose charcoal to achieve the fine details and precision needed for a realistic portrait.

Replacement

Oil Pastel: A study in color composition and portraiture, replacing the face in the source painting with my own likeness using a mirror. The child’s face was replaced with a photo of myself at age three.

Paper-Cuts

Splitting of the Sea

This paper-cut represents the splitting of the sea from the story of Exodus. With multiple layers to create depth and painstaking attention to detail, this design is one of my most complex.

Blessing on the House

A Jewish blessing for the home. The design is derived from the Hebrew text which translates to: “May this place be filled with love and warmth, this corner will be full of laughter and the house will be filled with blessing and song, washed in sunshine and bright light.”

A commissioned piece for a student to give to their teacher who made a great impact. The Hebrew text translates to: "Anyone who teaches Torah to the child of another, Scripture regards it as if he had given birth to him."

Teacher's Gift

One of my favorite crafts, paper-cutting is an intricate and delicate art form that challenges me to think creatively about how each piece of a design connects and fits together.

Photography

I have enjoyed photography for many years, honing my skills during my year abroad. Photography has taught me to find beauty in both the big picture and the smallest details.
