Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun
Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun (CKJ) is a Synagogue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York that has been serving the Orthodox Jewish Community since 1872.

Highlights Card
This Highlights Card features upcoming events, prayer service schedules, and Kiddush dates. I used images of the Chapel’s exterior and interior to create a familiar, inviting design for congregants. Its compact 5” × 7” size also makes it convenient to carry or display on a fridge.
The main challenge was fitting text-heavy content into a small space. Small caps created consistency, while semi-transparent white boxes helped organize the information and add visual interest.

Dessert & Cocktails
Many of my projects for Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun involved promotional materials for events, including posters and derivatives such as print flyers, thumbnails, and web banners.
Adapting one design across four different sizes can be challenging while maintaining balance and consistency. This project is one of my favorites. I created minimal shapes and lines to fill negative space and complete the design, using the pen tool to create custom elements rather than relying on pre-existing assets.

Holiday Schedule
In addition to event flyers, I created holiday schedules for CKJ, including a large poster and several derivatives.
I especially enjoyed designing the Sukkot schedule. The holiday’s joyful spirit inspired a vacation-like aesthetic through playful imagery, typography, color, and style.

High Holiday Reader
This High Holiday Reader is a companion to Rosh Hashanah prayer services, featuring lessons and messages designed to enhance the experience and strengthen one’s connection to God. Here is a link to the Online High Holiday Reader for full viewing.
For this text-heavy publication, I used themed imagery and coordinating accent colors to distinguish each section. An open, readable font matched the tone, while bolded quotes in the corresponding accent color created contrast and visual interest.
The reader showcases my ability to bring color and visual energy to a text-centric publication.

CKJ Annual Dinner
I designed the full creative suite for CKJ’s Annual Dinner, developing the event’s branding, main logo, and supporting materials, including invitations, RSVP cards, tickets, programs, signage, banners, and digital graphics.
I hand-drew the logo, incorporating the musical staff from the “Happy Birthday” tune to celebrate the Honoree’s 90th birthday. I carried the concert-inspired aesthetic across the entire suite through cohesive imagery and motifs. Designing the event from start to finish was both challenging and rewarding, strengthening my understanding of event branding and design.
